As the work evolved, those reflections began to take on a deeper meaning. It was created during a period of personal transformation and introspection, when long-held beliefs were being questioned and a new sense of identity was slowly beginning to emerge. Growth rarely arrives without uncertainty. Before we move forward, we are often invited to reflect—and sometimes to face the shadows within ourselves.
Looking back, I see this painting as a quiet meditation on that process. It is about the moments between who we have been and who we are becoming, and the courage it takes to remain present while the light gradually reveals the way forward.
The title Reflections & Shadows was inspired by a simple visual moment. As daylight entered through the window, reflections shimmered across the polished windowsill, intertwining with the shadows cast throughout the room. The quiet interplay of light and shadow became the starting point for this painting.
